The four photographs below were very kindly sent in by Joan Wall, the first one shows Joan's father Mr Willis Wall. Mr Wall was a part time taxi driver using his car ( Vauxhall) to attend Weddings for villagers in the local area. Photo appears to be from the 1940s.
Both photographs below show Mr Wall as a part time driver for Thornton's Garage on Green Arbour Road.

Below is a photograph that i have had for a while and one that's a bit of a mystery. it's a photo of the Old Travellers Rest Pub at Brookhouse.
It looks like its from around the time or just after the First World War 1918 / 1920s. Above the door just visible is the Landlords name,
Mr Joseph Dunhill, we think that's Mr Dunhill in front of the door (white shirt) no coat, and his wife stood in the doorway with maybe a family
member (son ?). The chap at the back is in what looks like a uniform from the 1914 era. It's been suggested that it could be reunion or maybe a day out, we don't know, ( Do You ? ) Does any body recognise any one, a Grandfather or Great Grandfather, if so please let us know. (Fred)

The building is now The Cartwheel Restaurant. 2016, Cartwhell is now closed as a restaurant.
