Thurcroft Colliery N.U.M Banner.
A Project has begun by Pat Fortune and myself to have the Above Banner housed in a case and placed in Thurcroft Church. The banner needs some repair ( repaint ) and a case will need to be made, contact with the church has been made and the local church authorities are quite happy for the banner to have a resting place in the church. Much more agreements have to be made with higher church officials before we get to the point of having the banner housed in the church, a quote by a Durham restores for work on the banner as been received. Joiners / Carpenters have been asked for a quote to have a case made of wood with a glass front, at the time of writing we await the approx cost of the work to be done. Grants for the total amount of money are being sought. We hope the work to have the Banner housed in the church can be completed in the next 6 to 12 months. It is hoped that a plaque will be made to acompany the Banner.
Regards Fred Gething.
